The NSW Liberal/National coalition government has been returned with a majority!
Gladys Berejiklian made history in becoming the first popularly elected female Premier of NSW.
A great accomplishment for women and a testament to the openness of the Liberal Party.
NSW couldn’t have afforded the cost of Labor, their campaign was one of cancelled projects, lost employment and self serving ego policy.
NSW was in poor shape 8 years ago, we had the worst unemployment in the nation, budget deficit and a huge state debt, infrastructure backlog, we had the worst economic growth.
But more importantly, Newcastle was left at a standstill. 100’s of empty shops, no investment in our city and a great sense of hopelessness and pessimism.
Now it’s all different.
We have the best performing economy in the country, highest job growth, lowest unemployment in NSW history, no state debt, largest record spends on health, education, transport and infrastructure.
That’s why we were re-elected.
Too often the Liberal Party is the clean up crew for Labor’s disasters. Now, we can focus on delivering for the people of NSW and Newcastle.
We also want to commend the local Liberal candidates here in the Hunter:
- Sally Halliday for Maitland
- Blake Keating for Newcastle
- Lindsay Patterson for Lake Macquarie
- Jennifer Barrie for Charlestown
